Strictly Come Dancing is set to delight fans this weekend with a special musical performance. The Northern Irish-Scottish rock band Snow Patrol, known for their chart-topping hits like Run, You Could Be Happy and Chasing Cars, will be performing live in the studio on Saturday evening.

The performance will be aired during Sunday night's results show on BBC One. The band was spotted rehearsing in London today, according to reports from the Mirror .

An insider shared: "Strictly always delivers when it comes to their musical performances and tomorrow night is Snow Patrol. All the celebs and pros are really excited and some of the latter will be performing during their set."

Gary Lightbody, the band's frontman, will be returning to the famous Strictly dance floor. The source added to The Sun : "Fans will have to wait and see what it looks like on Sunday but it's gearing up to be really special."

In the past, Strictly has hosted performances from big names such as Ellie Goulding and Jessie Ware.

This news follows the announcement of BBC presenter Nick Knowles' future on Strictly. The DIY SOS star is set to make a grand return to the show, as confirmed by BBC executives.

A BBC Spokesperson announced: "We are all delighted that Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk will be dancing in this Saturday's show."

Nick has been cleared to dance by the medical and physio teams following his injury last week. Due to time taken out of training this week, they will be performing their Movies Week Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2.

Nick was forced to observe Movie Week on Strictly Come Dancing from backstage due to a second injury that prevented him from taking part in the live show.

The popular TV builder had to bow out of Saturday's performance after suffering from a "quite painful" knee injury, which occurred during Friday's practice session.

The DIY SOS star later took to Twitter, along with a photo of himself watching the programme from home, expressing his disappointment.

He wrote: "Gutted not to be out there with everyone tonight on the @bbcstrictly dance floor, but still suited up and cheering them on from the sofa." (sic)

Support from his fellow castmates continued as Movie Week commenced, with host Claudia Winkleman offering sincere good wishes on air, remarking: "Nick, we are sending you love and wishing you a speedy recovery."

Nick's dance with partner Luba Mushtuka was highly anticipated by fans so, inkeeping with the show's rules, the routine was automatically moved forward to next week's show.

Reflecting on the accident during an appearance on Strictly: It Takes Two, Nick recalled the moment of injury, saying: "During our first dress rehearsal today, or run-through of the dance number on the stage, unfortunately I damaged my knee and it's quite painful. So the physios have decided I need to go for a MRI.

Luba expressed disappointment, saying: "Unfortunately we will not be dancing tomorrow but we really, really hope that the knee will be better for the next week and we'll be back on the dance floor. Fingers crossed, we really hope that we'll be back and see you guys very soon."

He also updated his Strictly followers in a heartfelt Instagram post, writing: "I have to see how I get on - and then a decision will be made on Friday.

"I just wanted to take this moment to say thank you for all the well wishes that I've received and encouragement from everybody. And I'm hopeful that I will be dancing on Saturday."
