Niall Horan has announced that he will be taking a break from the public eye in a surprising statement released this weekend.

The 31-year-old singer, who recently concluded his The Show world tour, shared the news with his fans during his final performance at the Movistar Arena in Colombia.

He said: "This stands from tomorrow onwards, you'll never find me. I'm gonna be hungover tomorrow! And I'm gonna disappear for a while. I'm gonna make you guys a brand new album and I will be back, I promise."

Niall, who rose to fame as a member of One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik, had previously described his current album as "more mature" than his previous work.

In an interview with BANG Showbiz, he stated: "It's definitely the most different, the sound of it has matured a lot. It's kind of a conceptual album about the things in your life. The Show' is a metaphor for life in this case, and all the spokes of the wheel that makeup your life experience."

Rumors are circulating that One Direction might perform at next year's Glastonbury Festival. Despite his global recognition, Niall admitted that he has never fully "got used" to the idea that he is known worldwide.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in Toronto for a cosy chat, the celebrity expressed astonishment over the zeal of fans, stating: "If you get used to the attention that comes with this job, there's something wrong with you. But it's crazy, isn't it? When you take a deep dive into it. It is nuts that on a cold, wet afternoon in Toronto they are all out there in their thousands. I heard they were all out there camping, I wouldn't recommend it next time. But thank you!" according to an OK! report.

Following the star's comments, his ex-bandmate Liam opened up about Niall in a fresh social media clip. Beside his girlfriend, Liam disclosed: "We're going to Argentina. One, because we have to, and two, because we want to, and three, because Niall Horan's playing down there and I think we might just go and say 'hello'."

Liam also revealed that it's been quite some time since he last caught up with Niall, admitting: "It's been a while since me and Niall have spoken. We've got a lot to talk about and I would like to square up a couple things with the boy. No bad vibes or nothing like that, but just, we need to talk."

After Liam released his video, social media, particularly X, previously known as Twitter, erupted with anticipation over the potential meet-up. Fans took to the platform to share their desire for a reunion, with one notably thrilled fan posting: "What do you mean Niall and Liam are in Argentina? They should organise a 1D reunion,".

Another couldn't hold back their excitement, exclaiming: "LIAM IS GOING TO ARGENTINA TO SEE NIALL OMG IM CRYING."

One supporter enthused, "Liam is going to see Niall in Argentina. First Narry and now Niam on tour. It always warms my heart when the boys support each other," while another added eagerly, "Liam will be at Niall's show tomorrow! ! NIIIAAAAMMMM REUNION".
