The CEO of Walmart has spoken about their community outreach in the wake of the hurricanes that left thousands of people impacted.

Walmart US President and CEO John Furner spoke with Fox News today, detailing the company’s efforts to help those in need. The company has donated more than $23 million to hurricane aid in the past two weeks, with the mission of supporting "communities recovering from both hurricanes." Furner said that they are doing what they can to “keep prices low.”

Furner said that the aftermath of the hurricane last Saturday was better than they expected. Walmart have set up distribution centers to help provide people with everything they need to “clean up” and get back on track.

Host Maria Bartiromo, asked Furner about the rising costs of household items due to inflation, and questioned whether he believed they might go up again, in the wake of the hurricane.

“We certainly want to do everything we can as a business, to try to keep prices low,” Furner said. “What we’ve been proud of over the past couple quarters is that prices had leveled to the year before, just before the storms hit.”

According to the company’s statement, plans include “Widening access to affordable in-person and virtual veterinary care, pet prescription delivery, grooming services, pet food and supplies, all in one convenient experience for pet owners.”
