A massive meat recall has prompted supermarkets across the country to pull many pre-packaged items from their shelves.

The recall will affect some of the most popular grocery stores across the US including Walmart, Public, Target, Aldi, Amazon, Trader Joe's and more. The issue comes from pre-cooked meat producer BrucePac, who announced the recall for nearly 10-million pounds of their product on Sunday.

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) carried out routine testing and found evidence of listeria monocytogenes on BrucePac ready-to-eat poultry, which can cause a listeriosis infection if consumed.

A number of popular food brands source their poultry from BrucePac, including Rao's, Michael Angelo's, Amazon Kitchen, Trader Joe's brand, Wegman's brand and more. The most commonly affected products include pre-packaged sandwiches, wraps and salads. Some frozen meals containing chicken are also impacted, ranging from pasta dishes and burritos to family meals in markets like Walmart.

According to the USDA, the products were produced between June 19 and October 8, then shipped to stores and distributors nationwide. They have advised that anyone who purchased these products to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. While there have been no confirmed reports of illness related to the recall , anyone concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider.

A full and expanding list of the impacted stores and products available to view at FSIS.gov.
