British actress Daisy Edgar-Jones is rumored to be taking on one of the greatest roles in romantic fiction and fans think she’s the perfect choice.

The Normal People star is reportedly taking on the role of Elizabeth Bennet in the new TV series adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride And Prejudice. The latest version of the classic story is being adapted for Netflix , and scripted by Dolly Alderton, the British writer behind the famous memoir, Everything I Know About Love.

The news of Edgar-Jones joining the cast comes after speculation about who will take on the iconic role, played by Kiera Knightley in the 2005 film adaptation. Fans of the period piece wanted to see someone equally as enchanting, and seemed delighted by the mention of Daisy’s name in the conversation.

One fan wrote: “Am I dreaming? Could this casting be any more perfect?”
