Paul Mescal is sharing several revelations with fans in a new interview , starting with a “gut feeling” that he won’t live a long life, which has prompted him to start thinking about starting a family of his own while still young.

The Normal People actor told GQ: 'I’ve always been convinced that I’m not going to live a long life... In my head, it’s never been drastic. It’s just like a gut feeling. And maybe it’s to do with the fact that I can’t visualize myself as an 80-year-old man.”

Mescal highlighted his constant fear of death, saying: "It’s always in my head. I was like, Going to have a family young. I’m going to not survive a long time. Hopefully, I’m wrong. I think I will be wrong. But that’s just the truth around my brain.”

When asked if the rumors were true—the one where he takes his dates to the park and then ditches them—he said that he’d first heard of such talk while with his family.

Mescal explained that they were watching the videos in the kitchen and laughing over the rumors. However, his mom was not as pleased with the fake news, he said.

"It’s hilarious. If it were true, it’d be bad, but as a rumor, it’s funny. Then I was like, Oh, if you’re a mother, her impulse is to come out and be like, ‘He wouldn’t do this.’"

When pressed further on his personal life, the Gladiator II star revealed he prefers to keep it private “for the benefit of my own sanity” and his work, as he believes people would have a harder time imagining him in different roles if they knew too much about his life.
