Former Notre Dame star Sam Hartman's future up in the air after rollercoaster week

Sam Hartman's future remains relatively uncertain after what has been a rollercoaster 2024 so far for the former Notre Dame star.

The quarterback, who boasts a massive online following - due to his athletic ability and his good looks - suffered a major setback last week when he was released by the Washington Commanders.

The Commanders released the QB, penning a statement to confirm the news , not long after Hartman made it clear he felt he belonged in the NFL .

However, it's not all doom and gloom for the QB, as the Commanders aren't exactly finished with him yet .

The franchise cleared waivers over the weekend and Hartman promptly re-signed with Washington’s practice squad, showing he is still in their plans to an extent.

Back in September, Hartman spoke candidly about his dreams and ambitions, making it clear that he wants to make it in the league.

He said: "I still see myself playing in the league, becoming a starting quarterback. It’s going to be a long road. But if you know anything about my career, you know it’s never going to be an easy journey. So I wouldn’t expect anything less, but I know my leadership abilities."
