Liam Payne dead aged 31, recognized by 'identifiable tattoos'

Former One Direction singer Liam Payne has died outside a hotel in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires , according to reports from a local newspaper.

La Nacion reported on Wednesday that the 31-year-old British musician was found dead after falling from the hotel's third floor , citing emergency services. The incident occurred just after 5pm.

Photos were obtained by the publication of his body against a wooden deck where his identifiable tattoos were clearly shown.

TMZ reported that Payne had been acting erratic in the hotel lobby earlier in the day. He allegedly smashed his laptop, and had to be carried back to his room.

Liam was one of five members of the United Kingdom's pop boyband One Direction alongside Niall Horan , Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Harry Styles. The band was formed on the popular reality television show X-Factor - having recently put to bed an alleged feud with Horan.

He was the father to Bear Payne, who he shares with Cheryl Fernandez.
