Personal reason Liam Payne was in Argentina at time of tragic death

Liam Payne has been found dead in Argentina , with many fans rushing to social media to pay tribute to the One Direction star , who was just 31 years of age.

Payne had shared on social media that he was in Buenos Aires to attend his former bandmate, Niall Horan's recent gig. Many even criticized him for his behavior at the gig, with some feeling he was taking attention away from the Irishman.

Videos had been circulating online of Payne attracting attention at the concert, dancing and singing along, much to the adoration of fans in attendance.

Payne was in Argentina for longer than just a few days though, and he had been sharing images and videos alongside his girlfrend Kate Cassidy.

Sky News reported that Argentine authorities said that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, and that an autopsy is being conducted.

One witness said that Payne was "acting erratic" in the lead up to his death, with another saying that he was seen smashing a laptop shortly before he was found dead.
