Reports have surfaced revealing that Liam Payne exhibited erratic behavior before a fall from his third-floor hotel room .

9-1-1 audio obtained by an Argentinian TV station reportedly captured the hotel owner claiming: "We have a guest who is on drugs and is destroying the whole room, so we need someone to come."

Prior to the incident, Liam was witnessed breaking his laptop in the hotel lobby, which led to him being assisted to his room. The One Direction star had previously been candid about struggling with alcohol.

In a YouTube video posted in July 2023, he announced: "I was in bad shape up until that point," disclosing his newfound sobriety after roughly 100 days of rehabilitation treatment.

Tragically, on Oct. 16, Liam Payne was found deceased at about 5 p.m. local time during his visit to Argentina, following a concert by ex-bandmate Niall Horan , reports the Mirror US .

In recalling his motivation to quit alcohol based on a transformative moment, Liam expressed in this same video: "I watching this beautiful symphony, I was having a drink, and I thought, 'You know what, this isn't really serving me at all, I don't really need this right now.' It's the first time I've ever put a drink down and gone to someone else, 'You finish this, I don't need this right now.' And I haven't picked one up since, which has almost been six months, which I'm excited about."

Liam and Niall, along with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, formed the band One Direction in 2010 on The X-Factor UK. The group skyrocketed to fame, releasing five albums before taking a "hiatus" in 2016.

Each of the former band members embarked on solo careers, including Liam who made his debut with the single Strip That Down, which received mixed reviews from fans and critics.

Before his death, it was reported that Liam's ex-girlfriend, Maya Henry, was seeking legal advice after alleging he was continuously contacting her. A source told the DailyMail: "Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Liam Payne following the emergence of new and concerning information. She has retained attorneys Marco Crawford and Daniel Cerna to represent her. At this time, that is her only comment on the matter."
