Scottie Scheffler admits he’s already thought about making difficult Masters decision

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

That seems to be Scottie Scheffler's motto both on and off the course, and it's serving him pretty well. And on the subject of serving, the American, 28, says he's already thinking about the make-up of the menu for the 2025 Masters' Champions Dinner, despite the fact the event is still six months away.

As is tradition, whoever wins the Green Jacket is responsible for picking, and paying for, the food that's served at the annual Champions Dinner, held on the Tuesday night before the tournament begins. As the 2024 Masters champion, Scheffler has the honours ahead of next year's competition, and according to the man himself, he's considering taking a page out of Tiger Woods' book.

"I have thought about [what I will serve] a little bit," he admitted on the GOLF's Subpar podcast . "I'm wondering if I should just have the exact same menu. I mean, it was pretty good, it was all my favourite foods.

"I don't really know what I could do differently. I think it would be really fun just to have the exact same food. But yeah, we'll see."

After winning his first Green Jacket in 2022, Scheffler went on to serve a mouthwatering spread of cheeseburger sliders, firecracker shrimp, Texas ribeye steak, blackened redfish and chocolate chip skillet cookies in 2023.

If he opts for the same menu in 2025 he'll be following in the footsteps of golf legend Woods, who picked the exact same food ahead of both the 2002 Masters and 2003 Masters tournaments. Similarly, Sir Nick Faldo chose to serve fish and chips after two of his three Masters triumphs, though switched up the rest of the menu.

World No. 1 Scheffler has had something of a stellar year. He won his second major title at Augusta in April and followed it up by clinching Olympic gold at the Paris Games in the summer.

He's among the favourites to win the Masters next year alongside the likes of Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy and Ludvig Aberg. Should he claim a third Green Jacket he'll become just the ninth player in history to do so.
