Mike Tyson has clapped back at Butterbean with fresh footage showcasing the boxing icon's intense preparations for his upcoming fight against Jake Paul.
Iron Mike is gearing up to face the YouTube sensation-turned-fighter on November 15 at the illustrious AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas . The match-up has sparked debate and controversy, due to the vast age difference between the competitors. However, both fighters are preparing well for the bout, despite some concerns from fellow athletes.
Ex- boxer Butterbean, whose real name is Eric Esch, recently mocked Tyson's physique by saying the 58-year-old appeared "pregnant". The former fighter said: "I saw Mike about three weeks ago, and he looked pregnant."
'I couldn't believe what Mike Tyson did during fight camp - I had no choice but to quit' Jake Paul handed Mike Tyson respect warning as he's told to run away from boxing icon He further added: "I would knock him out. He has no chin. The problem with those who have lost to Tyson is they didn't challenge him."
Tyson has silenced Butterbean's jibes with a new video, releasing footage showing him intensely working out, now sporting a far more chiseled and fit physique.
A video dropped on an online platform X, formerly known as Twitter, shows Tyson strengthening his neck on a modern resistance weight machine. The formidable former champion captioned the post: "While Jake keeps talking, I'm going to keep training. Going to f*** him up."
As the seasoned fighter gears up for the November 15 bout, it appears that 27-year-old Paul is also putting in the graft in the ring. He's caused a stir by reportedly breaking an unwritten boxing rule during a sparring session.
Paul posted a video of himself landing a powerful right hook on his sparring partner, before addressing the camera directly and saying: "Don't try charge at me Tyson."
This footage has sparked controversy as it's generally considered bad form to share sparring videos with the public. The training ring is seen as a sacred space for fighters to refine their skills, not a platform for public challenges to opponents.
The upcoming fight between Paul and Tyson hasn't been without its own controversy, with several big names in boxing - including Butterbean - labelling it a "scam" rather than a legitimate professional bout.
Promoter Eddie Hearn is among those criticising the fight, claiming that no one really wants to see it happen.
Speaking to The Sun, Hearn said: "I don't think there's one boxing person that really wants this fight to happen. So, they're looking at it from a different angle, they're looking at it from numbers, they're looking to it for hype and I get it. I understand that this freak show may well do good numbers."
