    Two key superfoods lower blood sugar without needing insulin, experts say

    Experts have revealed various methods to lower blood sugar levels without the need for insulin medication. One such method, backed by numerous studies, involves consuming foods rich in magnesium and chromium.

    High blood sugar, or hyperglycemia, is a condition associated with diabetes , occurring when the body fails to produce sufficient insulin or use it efficiently, leading to an accumulation of glucose in the bloodstream.

    High blood sugar can be linked to a deficiency in essential minerals like magnesium and chromium, both vital in managing blood sugar levels. Magnesium regulates an enzyme known as glucokinase, responsible for converting glucose into glucose-6-phosphate.

    When magnesium levels are low, the activity of glucokinase can decrease, potentially impacting the release of insulin in the body.     Chromium is an essential trace mineral for humans, playing a crucial role in how our body processes glucose and maintains stable blood sugar levels.

    Chromium supplements can cause side effects, such as irregular heartbeats, sleep disturbances, headaches, mood changes, and allergic reactions. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid taking chromium supplements.

    Some clinical studies have shown that chromium supplements can lower blood sugar levels and reduce the amount of insulin needed by people with diabetes. For instance, one study found that people with type 2 diabetes who took chromium picolinate had better fasting blood glucose levels than those who took a placebo.

    While most research on chromium is promising, more studies are needed, as some have produced mixed or poor results. It's also worth noting that chromium may work better in people who are chromium deficient, which typically only occurs if you have overall poor nutrition.

    Keeping well-hydrated is crucial for your kidneys to effectively remove excess sugar from your body. Studies have indicated that those who drink more water are less likely to experience high blood sugar levels.

    Plus, it's worth noting that water is the healthiest option. Sugary drinks can further elevate blood sugar levels.

    Click bait again. Two super foods right. An entire article never mentions what the two super food are. Unless you can eat magnesium and chromium by itself. Magnesium is a mineral not a food. Who writes these articles? Elementary school kids. Get your act together and learn to write an article correctly
