A beloved TV icon has voiced anger at his daughter's college choice because of his own sporting allegiances. Dean Norris is an American actor known for playing Hank Schrader on the AMC series Breaking Bad.

When he is not starring in one of his over 150 film and TV credits such as Terminator 2, Total Recall and Better Call Saul, the 61-year-old is being a devoted father to his five children, the eldest of whom is heading to college.

It seems Norris isn't too happy with the choice of institute for the young woman's foray into secondary education, though. Norris is from Indiana and is a lifelong Notre Dame Football fan .

Assumingly, Norris would have preferred his offspring to attend a college more in line with his football loyalties. Instead, Norris' daughter has chosen University of Southern California in LA - home of the USC Trojans.

Sharing a photo of him and his daughter at USC to his 1.7m followers on Instagram, Norris jokingly fumed: " When you are a life long Notre Dame fan, cause you grew up there , and your senior daughter wants to go to USC. Grrrr."

Norris does not share much about his family life online but he is no stranger to the college football side-lines , either, so his daughter's decision must have moved him to make an exception. Norris' hometown is South Bend and is known for rocking up at Notre Dame tailgates. Hilariously, f ans quickly got on Norris' side in the college battle .

One commented: "Simply tell her 'no'. Go Irish," while another joked: "I'm sorry, this must be a hard time for you and your family. Go Irish!" A third chimed in: "So sorry for your loss. Go Irish, my friend!"

Notre Dame recently showcased their prowess with a stunning 66-7 triumph over Purdue, underlining the NFL heritage within the squad. The team boasts offspring of NFL legends Howard Cross III and Benjamin Morrison, whose dads are the ex New York Giants tight end Howard Cross and Washington safety Darryl Morrison.

The NFL lineage doesn't stop there, with four rising stars each carrying an NFL legacy . Jordan Clark from Arizona State and RJ Oben from Duke are familiar with the NFL world, thanks to their fathers Ryan Clark, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Roman Oben, previously with the New York Giants.

At least she didn't choose Trump University. That would be unforgivable.
