Caitlin Clark makes 'drastic changes' on golf course ahead of pro-am tournament

Caitlin Clark continues to make the most of the off-season by 'drastically' improving her golfing skills ahead of next month's Pro-Am tournament.

The WNBA superstar has only recently come off the back of a remarkable breakthrough campaign with the Indiana Fever but is determined to take her skills to the next level in a second sport next month.

Having played golf as a child prior to focusing on basketball, the 22-year-old has been determined to not let her primary profession get in the way of one of her favorite hobbies as she prepares for her second golf tournament appearance.

Clark previously played in the 2023 John Deere Classic Pro-Am at TPC Deere Run alongside professional golfers Zach Johnson and Ludvig Aberg, where she more than held her own despite not registering an exact score.

Nonetheless, she will be hoping to prove that she has made the step up from last time when she takes to the course at The Annika driven by Gainbridge on November 13 - and has taken extra steps to ensure this is the case.

The WNBA Rookie of the Year has been having lessons with former professional Martha Foyer-Faulconer ahead of next month's tournament, who has been left more than impressed with what she's seen from the superstar.

"Within the time we were working, we saw some drastic changes," Foyer-Faulconer told Golfweek's Beth Ann Nichols . "Some of this stuff you can't teach people. They just either have it or they don't," she added.

Clark's teacher also feels she is able to do anything she sets her mind to, citing her drive and passion as her biggest strengths when it comes to sport.

" It’s also part of her DNA,” Foyer-Faulconer said. "Because she’s going to do things well. She wants to be as good as she can in everything she touches. She’s very driven and passionate. It’s fun to work with her."

Foyer-Faulconer has been training Clark in Carmel, Indiana, where photos of the two women practicing on a golf course went viral on social media.

However, it appears Indiana Fever's point guard isn't letting anything distract her from the task at hand as she prepares to go up against World No.1 Kelly Korda and LPGA star Annika Sorenstam in Florida in little over two weeks' time.
