Notre Dame Football is looking to snag the younger brother of a former Irish star. The team is currently assessing Philadelphia William Penn Charter class of 2026 athlete Tom McGlinchey.

The 6-6, 220-pounder is the younger sibling of former Notre Dame offensive tackle star Mike McGlinchey, who was picked in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and now plays for the Denver Broncos.

There's a 12-year age difference between the brothers, meaning the younger McGlinchey spent his childhood watching Fighting Irish football , according to Blue & Gold.

" I got up to Notre Dame as much as I could ," McGlinchey added. "During my brother's first couple of years I was out pretty much every weekend they were home."

McGlinchey currently has one scholarship offer, from the Duke Blue Devils. He has been in sporadic contact with the Notre Dame staff , which included him attending a prospect camp in South Bend in June.

"My camp experience was awesome," McGlinchey told Blue & Gold. "I really enjoyed stepping into the camp and performing my best in front of the coaches .

"It was really cool to hear different techniques and coaching points from the staff . Notre Dame has been my dream school since I was five years old and coming back at 17 was one of the coolest moments of my life ."

He kicked off the camp working with the quarterbacks, but the Irish had already secured a commitment from a 2026 class quarterback, Noah Grubbs, a week and a half before the camp so had him run routes and work as a tight end .

"The instruction from the coaches was great," continued McGlinchey. "Coach [Mike] Denbrock and Coach [Harris] Bivin stepped me into a position I have never really played before, they did an amazing job coaching me up ."

McGlinchey will continue to play as a quarterback, and the Irish are interested in him as a tight end . However, it's likely that the two parties will keep in touch going forward.

"A Notre Dame offer would mean the world to me," McGlinchey stated. "Notre Dame has been the school that I've wanted to play football at ever since I started playing football . If I was given the opportunity to play football at Notre Dame I would take it. It's been my dream to be a golden domer my whole life.
