Alabama Small Business Development Center launches rural business help program
The University of Alabama’s Alabama Small Business Development Center is expanding a program focused on getting rural business owners the advice, training and financial assistance they need to succeed. This expansion to the AssistAL program comes thanks to funding from the U.S. Treasury’s State Small Business Credit Initiative.

How the HOPE Scholarship is giving hope to students all over Georgia
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — On July 16, Governor Kemp announced that $15 billion was given to 2.1 million Georgia natives by the HOPE Scholarship. This year alone, around 2,723 students were given the HOPE Scholarship at Georgia College and State University. To qualify for the HOPE Scholarship you must be a Georgia resident and keep a 3.0 GPA.

Jackson launches automated utility meters pilot program
The city of Jackson will begin to test the use of automated utility meters by installing 54 water and 54 electric meters. Automated meters, or advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), is used to collect water and power usage data.
