Discovery Center’s Camp Wonder to Return
The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring recently announced the return of Camp Wonder, a weeklong summer camp for Rutherford County high school students with disabilities. This year’s camp will be held from Monday, July 8th to Friday, July 12th at Siegel High School (located at 3300 Siegel Rd. in Murfreesboro). The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. The camp fee is $50.

Nolensville Youth Softball League's Season in Jeopardy After Devastating Fire Destroys Equipment
Early yesterday morning, a shed housing all of the Nolensville Youth Softball league's equipment was engulfed in flames, dealing a low blow to the local sports community. According to a NewsChannel5 report, the fire department responded to the blaze at around 2:30 a.m at the Nolensville baseball fields and was met with heavy smoke and intense flames; the equipment within was declared a "total loss."

Vanderbilt Volleyball Adds Two More Transfers
Vanderbilt volleyball head coach Anders Nelson announced the addition of Elli Kinney and Jackie Moore to its roster Thursday. Kinney, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, spent her freshman year at the College of Charleston before transferring to Vandy. A 5-foot-8 libero, she appeared in all 19 matches of her debut season, making four starts as a defensive specialist. New Pickleball Courts Planned For Community Center
Putnam County Parks and Recreation beginning the planning for six new pickleball courts at the Cookeville Community Center. The Association of Pickleball Professionals reports a 223 percent increase in participation over the last three years.
