Hayward helps Vols jump back into top 10 in team recruiting rankings
Football again made a move in the 247Sports Composite team recruiting rankings for the 2025 class Saturday after landing another of its top defensive targets. The Vols jumped back into the top 10 after four-star safety Lagonza Hayward of Toombs County High School in Lyons, Ga., announced his commitment to Tennessee, picking the Vols over Florida and Georgia.

Hermitage Dollar General robber shoots clerk after getting money
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A store employee is shot while on duty in Hermitage. Just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday, a man demanding money shot the clerk at the Dollar General, 541 Stewarts Ferry Pike, during a robbery, said Metro Nashville police. The victim is in critical, but stable condition at Vanderbilt University. Medical Center.
Tires shine through the downpour at Nashville’s 2024 Import Alliance Summer Meet
The 2024 Import Alliance Summer Meet at the Nashville Super Speedway kicked off positively on July 19 despite a thunderstorm. This year, organizers shifted the two-day event to evening hours, and like-minded vehicle enthusiasts came together to showcase their imported cars. Event activities include drifting, drag racing, dyno testing and vendor booths. Saturday mostly consisted of car drifting, the only activity fit for the track’s wet surface.
