    Wisconsin Bankers Association Recognizes Iron River Banker Greg Ogren for Board Service

    Greg Ogren, president and CEO of Security Bank Shares, Inc. of Iron River, was recently recognized by the Wisconsin Bankers Association for his service to the industry. Ogren joined the WBA Board of Directors in 2021 and served a three-year term.

    “On behalf of our Association, I would like to thank Greg for his dedication to Wisconsin’s banking industry,” said Rose Oswald Poels, WBA president and CEO, in a release. “His service on the WBA Board has helped foster growth and positive change not only for our industry, but also for individuals, businesses, and communities in our state.”

    Ogren graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing, was hired into First Bank System’s Management Training Program, and became a commercial lender at U.S. Bank, Rochester, Minn., and Century Bank, Eden Prairie, Minn.

    He is the president, CEO, and director of Security Bank Shares, Inc., managing two bank charters, Security State Bank and Security Bank, comprised of seven locations, where he also serves as the senior officer and director.

    Ogren held the position of WBA Group One president in 2017, currently serves on the advisory committee for Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis Director Selection, is a board member of the Superior Diocesan Finance Council, served on the American Bankers Association Membership Council, and continues to be involved in several of other business interests.
