    Ironton native McKenzie Long wins heat in Olympic sprint

    IRONTON, OH (WOWK) — McKenzie Long, a native of Ironton, Ohio, sprinted her way to first place Sunday morning during the first round of the women’s 200 meter dash in the Paris Olympics.

    Long placed first within Heat 4 at a time of 22.55 seconds, earning her a spot in the semi-finals Monday. Following behind her in Heat 4 are Jessika Gbai of Côte d’Ivoire and Audrey Leduc of Canada, who placed second and third respectively.

    The women’s 200 meter dash semi-final will take place on Monday at 2:45 p.m. EST, while the final will take place on Tuesday at 3:40 p.m. EST.
