    PAGEANT OF THE MASTERS

    This year’s performance theme is “À La Mode: The Art of Fashion” and will feature a look at fashion through the years, from the age of royalty all the way through present day. The “living pictures” show will use elaborate costumes and makeup to bring paintings to life onstage, including works by British artist David Hockney and French painter James Tissot.     “JULY 4 SPECTACULAR: MUSIC OF CHICAGO”

    Pacific Symphony’s annual Fourth of July concert features the music of Chicago performed by Brass Transit, a tribute band of award-winning musicians and singers.     NEW SWAN SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

    Hosted in partnership with UC Irvine Claire Trevor School of the Arts, students and theater professionals will come together to perform two of Shakespeare’s famous works, “Measure for Measure” and “Twelfth Night,” in a portable outdoor theater on the university campus.
