IRVINE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — In the rolling hills of Irvine lies Suda Sparks’ home.

She moved there along with her 13-year-old dog just five months ago, but in that short time, the home has become overcrowded. About 20 wild cats have decided to live there too, just showing up uninvited.

“They come for me because they love me, everywhere I go, if it’s a cat around, it comes to my house,” said Sparks.

The cats can be seen in the yard, under her car, and under her porch, and they love to hang outside the front door, especially when it is mealtime.

“A lot of people say, well, ‘If they are not really yours, why do you want to feed them?’ I say, I can’t look out the window, they come to my window that big window over there, I cannot stand to see animals go hungry,” said Sparks.

Sparks said she has always had a love for animals, so much so that she has taken on the name “Cat Lady,” but now, at 70 years old, she is concerned about her health and says it is time to get the fur babies re-homed.

“I go back to my doctor tomorrow, I’ve been having a lot of dizziness and I think it may be the cats causing a lot of it.”

On top of this, scorching hot temperatures have her worried about how much more the kittens can take.

“I took a fan on my porch the other day, and put on her and she ran off, it scared her.”

She said she and her little fan can only do so much, calling for people to step up. She wants to find good homes for her non-so-temporary residents, but will not give them to just anybody.

“You know, they can leave big cats, I don’t want no female cats left. Oh, God, please don’t leave any.”

If you would like to be the parent of any of the cats or kittens, you can contact the Estill County Animal Shelter.
