HOUGHTON, N.Y. — Houghton women’s basketball was honored for their work in the classroom during the 2023-24 academic year, earning special mention on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for NCAA Division III programs. SUNY Oneonta to help develop fire-safe battery technology
ALBANY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Wednesday, July 24 that a local college will be helping develop new innovations in battery technology. SUNY Oneonta will be one of two places in New York State to receive funding from the United States Department of Energy (DOE) for a long-duration energy storage project using fire-safe battery technology. According to the governor’s office, the technology will be able to be used in urban and rural places and demonstrate a stable energy supply during periods of high demand and extreme weather conditions.
