Update on Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident in Poinciana

According to the latest information provided by law enforcement officials, the victim, identified as P1, was crossing Poinciana Boulevard in a marked crosswalk. She was walking in a westerly direction across the southbound lanes when the accident occurred. The vehicle involved, identified as V1, a 2015 Ford F150, was traveling southbound in the outside lane, approaching the intersection with Waterview Estates Boulevard.

A witness at the scene reported that the driver of V1 had a green traffic light at the time of the incident. Despite this, P1 walked directly into the path of the oncoming vehicle, leading to the collision. The impact was such that the front right of the vehicle struck P1, resulting in fatal injuries. The driver of V1, who was not injured in the incident, continued traveling southbound before returning to the scene. Upon his return, he informed authorities that he was unaware of what he had struck.

The driver's cooperation with law enforcement is noted, and he has been reported to have suffered no injuries from the collision. The victim, unfortunately, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
