Pedestrian Fatality Involving Orlando Police Department SUV on John Young Parkway

Orlando, FL. - A tragic accident occurred on John Young Parkway near Vision Boulevard, involving a marked Orlando Police Department Ford Explorer and a pedestrian, leading to a fatality. The incident unfolded as the police SUV, traveling northbound in the center lane of John Young Parkway, approached Vision Boulevard.

The pedestrian, an adult female, was walking in a westerly direction across John Young Parkway at the time of the incident. It was reported that she was not using a marked crosswalk when she walked into the direct path of the oncoming police SUV. The front of the Ford Explorer collided with the pedestrian, resulting in immediate and tragic consequences.

The driver of the Orlando Police Department Ford Explorer was not transported for medical treatment following the incident. However, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased woman is pending, as the Medical Examiner’s Office works to positively identify her.
