Tragic Head-On Collision Claims Life in Pasco County

Pasco County, FL – A somber scene unfolded on Chancey Road in Pasco County on the evening of March 13, 2024, when a devastating head-on collision resulted in the death of one individual and left two others with serious injuries. The crash, occurring at 7:21 PM, has shaken the local community and prompted calls for increased road safety measures.

According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, a Honda FIT, driven by a 44-year-old woman from Apollo Beach, was heading northbound on Chancey Road. Meanwhile, a Honda Civic, operated by a 43-year-old Zephyrhills woman, was traveling in the opposite direction. Tragedy struck north of Correia Drive when the Honda FIT failed to properly navigate a curve, crossed into the oncoming lane, and collided nearly head-on with the Honda Civic.

The force of the impact was catastrophic. The driver of the Honda FIT suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, marking a tragic end to what started as an ordinary Tuesday evening. The other vehicle's occupants, the driver from Zephyrhills and a 38-year-old male passenger, also from Zephyrhills, sustained serious injuries in the collision. Emergency services promptly transported them to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving medical care.
