Lancaster Woman Arrested for Stabbing and Drug Possession

In the early hours of Saturday, March 16, 2024, Lancaster City Police were called to the scene of a reported shooting on the 100 block of South Water Street. The incident, which occurred around 1:38 am, took a turn when officers discovered that the female victim had actually been stabbed, not shot, in an altercation that took place in the nearby 100 block of South Prince Street.

The victim's injuries were determined to be non-life threatening, and she was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Lancaster City Bureau of Police's swift response led to the apprehension of Martita Soto, 43, in connection with the stabbing. A subsequent search of Soto revealed the possession of cocaine, adding a drug charge to her arrest.

Martita Soto is now facing serious charges including one count of Aggravated Assault (F1) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (M). These charges reflect the severity of the allegations against her and underscore the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to address violent crime and drug possession within the community.
