Elderly Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on County Road 435 in Sorrento

Sorrento, Lake County - According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Troopers are currently on the scene of a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred this afternoon around 3:10 P.M. The crash took place on County Road 435 near Dubsdread Drive in Sorrento, Lake County.

Preliminary investigations reveal that a 2014 Harley Davidson was traveling southbound on County Road 435, approaching Dubsdread Drive, when the rider lost control and veered off the roadway to the right. The motorcycle struck two traffic signs and then collided with a tree, resulting in the rider being thrown from the vehicle.

The rider, identified as an 80-year-old male from Sorrento, was transported to Advent Health Apopka, where he was pronounced deceased.

In response to the accident, a roadblock has been implemented on Dubsdread Drive in both directions, causing traffic delays. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. Further details will be released as they become available.
