Polk County, FL. - As part of the Polk County Sheriff’s ongoing Operation Pop Top campaign, targeting the illegal sale of alcohol to minors, two sales clerks in Davenport were arrested for selling alcohol to a person under 21 years old. The undercover operation involved a 17-year-old cadet from the PCSO's Cadet Program attempting to purchase alcohol at various stores in the Northeast District.

During the week-long operation, four stores were checked for compliance with state law regarding alcohol sales to minors. Two sales clerks at 7-Eleven and Circle K in Davenport were caught selling alcohol to the cadet, leading to their arrest. The other two stores checked were found to be in compliance.

“As the Sheriff, it’s my duty to protect our community, and that includes ensuring our youth are safe. Selling alcohol to minors isn’t just illegal; it’s irresponsible and puts our kids and our community at risk..” – Grady Judd, Sheriff

The arrested clerks, Adriana Delvalle and Jason Lozeille, face charges for selling alcohol to a minor. To learn more about the PCSO Cadet Program, visit https://www.polksheriff.org/programs-services/cadet-unit-1000.
