Fatal Crash on SR-52 Leaves One Dead, Four Injured

Hudson, FL — According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a tragic two-vehicle collision on SR-52 has claimed the life of a 38-year-old Hudson woman and left several others injured, including three children.

According to authorities, the accident occurred at approximately 5:24 PM at the intersection of SR-52 and Prospect Road. The driver of a Kia Forte, a 38-year-old woman from Hudson, was traveling eastbound on SR-52 when she attempted to make a left turn under a flashing yellow signal. Her vehicle was struck by a westbound tractor-trailer, driven by a 41-year-old man from Port Richey.

The driver of the Kia was transported to a nearby hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries. Her three daughters, aged 16, 14, and 13, were also in the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was also transported to a hospital with serious injuries. His current condition is unknown at this time.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine if any additional factors contributed to the collision. The section of SR-52 near Prospect Road was closed for several hours following the crash but has since reopened.
