A new restaurant is coming to Edon, Ohio

A new restaurant offering barbecue is opening its doors soon in Edon.

In a recent social media post, Calli’s SmokeHouse - which is a restaurant located in Edon at 3102 Midtoll Blvd - announced that it would at last open for business on March 7. The restaurant will offer southern-style barbecue.

Calli's menu features dishes like smoked nachos grande (which come with your choice of meat, cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, and nacho cheese), Piggy Mac (which consists of mac and cheese loaded with smoked cheeses and your choice of meat), El Hefe (which consists of your choice of meat smothered in cheddar cheese, coleslaw, and your choice of sauce between 2 grilled slices of Texas toast), Calli's classic chicken sandwich (which is served on a brioche bun and comes with a slow-smoked boneless chicken thigh that's glazed with mild BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and shredded cheddar), the Bomber Burrito (which is stuffed with your choice of 2 meats, purple onions, mac & cheese, and your choice of sauce), and a BBQ parfait, which comes with mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, cornbread bits, and your choice of meat.

You can also build your own sandwich. Start with one of the restaurant's smoked meats: pulled pork, pulled chicken, hot links (which are made with a blend of beef and pork), chopped beef, or brisket. Then you can add toppings like pickles, jalapenos, purple onions, and/or sport peppers.

Also on the menu are sides like house-made coleslaw, potato salad, mac & cheese, cornbread muffins, cowboy beans (baked beans with BBQ sauce, sauteed onions, and green peppers), and red skin mashed potatoes with brown gravy. In addition, the restaurant makes half-racks and full racks of baby back ribs.

The restaurant's house-made sauces include SmokeHouse hot, sweet honey, mild BBQ, teriyaki, hot honey chili lime, garlic parmesan, and Calli's house ranch.

If you have room for dessert, the menu has options like homemade pie, cookies, fruit bread (flavors include cherry, blueberry lemon, chocolate chip banana, and orange cranberry), chocolate buckeyes, and banana pudding.

When it first opens, the restaurant will be open Monday to Saturday from 2 PM to 10 PM. Once the restaurant's employees have gotten the hang of things, Calli's plans to expand its hours of operation and open earlier in the day.
