A new restaurant has opened in Deerfield Township, Ohio

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH - A new brewery with a restaurant has come to town.

On August 24, Fifty West Brewing Company celebrated the grand opening of its new location in Deerfield Township at 5224 District Pk Dr, according to the restaurant's social media account. The restaurant describes itself as "the rootbeer stand of the future" on Fifty West's website.

The menu includes burgers, veggie burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken sandwiches, and flat-top all-beef dogs. You can have your sandwich the classic style (which comes with fry sauce, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle). You can also get it with styles like Ohio style (which comes with Cincinnati chili, onions, house mustard, and shredded cheddar), Colorado style (which comes with spicy green chile salsa, jalapeno, and ghost pepper jack cheese), and West Virginia style, which comes with apple butter, American cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions.

Also on the menu are crinkle-cut fries, pita plates, bone-in chicken wings with buffalo or BBQ sauce, loaded fries, chili cheese fries, and pretzel bites. If you have room for something sweet, Fifty West has shakes and floats.

This is a great space and a great addition to the area. There's tons of covered (and uncovered) outdoor seating, sand and pickleball courts, TVs, music, and WiFi. Inside isn't quite as big, but it can still seat a good amount of folks. Service is quick and efficient, even on a busy evening. For drinks, they have a good variety of ~24 beers on tap. The porter I tried was a decent 7/10. They don't do flights, unfortunately, so it might take a while to find your go-to drink(s) unless you're pounding them back! They also have a short wine list. For food, I like the customizations by state; it's an interesting way to make the menu seem huge while sticking to the basics. I had the Ohio-style chicken sandwich -- it was mustard overload. There was just as much mustard as chili on the sandwich, and the two don't mix well. The chicken was tender though, so I see potential in other styles. The buffalo wings were actually incredible and exceeded my expectations. I'll be coming back for those regularly. No doubt I'll be back to keep exploring this place since it's in my backyard; they have good potential!
