A new restaurant has opened in Lakewood, Ohio

    2024-09-03

LAKEWOOD, OH - A new restaurant has come to town.

On August 21, the new restaurant Artis celebrated its grand opening, according to the restaurant's social media account. Customers can find the restaurant in Lakewood at 17900 Detroit Ave. Per the restaurant's website, Artis is "Latin for craft, art, skill, & knowledge." The Lakewood restaurant is a new venture from executive chef and owner Andrew Mansour.

The menu includes "now" starters like spicy cucumbers, marinated tomatoes, citrus-cured olives, and sea salt & EVOO flatbread as well as "soon" appetizers like roasted carrots, spicy pulled lamb hummus, "lobster bisque" (which is served in the form of a soup dumpling), and deviled eggs.

As for main courses, the menu has "in a while" dishes like duck confit pierogi, Nashville hot harissa chicken, kimchi baked clams, Korean short rib, smoked octopus, and pan-roasted scallops. There are also entrees that are "worth the wait" like misoyaki glazed salmon, spice roasted eggplant, saffron & date braised lamb shank, and whole fried snapper. In addition, Artis offers steaks like a 28-ounce dry-aged porterhouse, 16-ounce Ohio Angus bone-in ribeye, 8-ounce Angus reserve filet mignon, and 13-ounce Ohio Angus NY strip.

If you want something to drink, the restaurant serves a variety of cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, and mocktails. If you have room for dessert, Artis offers chocolate bourbon pecan pie, sticky toffee date cake, and cheesecake.

Here is what a customer had to say about the new addition to Lakewood in a Google review:

Incredible. Went with another couple on opening Day 2. Knew nothing about it prior to going. The host, Jewel our server, the food runners, the chef and the bar manager were all in top form. This was literally the single best meal I’ve had in any city in America since prior to the pandemic. Mac-n-cheese, carrots, Korean short rib, marinated tomatoes, hangar steak were one fantastic flavor after another. Martinis were simple and perfectly prepared. The mid-century/deco design inside and outside was nice. Ample parking! Bravo! We will be back!

    A local guide wrote:

Overall everything was great, unique vibe, great food and cocktail selections. My only beef would be the steak came out close to room temp. Only day 3 so I'm down to come back again in the future.

If you want to check out the new restaurant, you can find it at 17900 Detroit Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107.

The new restaurant is open 4 days a week, Wednesday to Thursday from 4 PM to 10 PM and Friday to Saturday from 4 PM to 11 PM. Reservations can be made here.
