BROOK PARK, OH - People often knock on gas station food, but sometimes, you can find surprisingly delicious food at the little gas station around the corner.

Last week, I went to the Sunoco gas station in Brook Park, which is located at 6313 Engle Rd. The little store might not look like much from the outside, but inside, you can find some fantastic fried chicken. The store offers Charley Biggs chicken, and oh my God, is it wonderful.

During my most recent visit, I ordered a box with 2 chicken tenders, a jojo, and a side of ranch, which came out to be $5.28, a great deal considering the size of the tenders and jojo.

First, I took a bite of the jojo, which was covered in a flavorful crunchy breading. Inside, the jojo had the soft texture of a perfectly baked potato. After I polished off the jojo, I sank my teeth into a chicken tender, and oh Lord, it was delicious. The breading was so crispy and well-seasoned. And under the breading, the meat was tender and practically glistening with juices. The tenders didn't need any sauce, but dipping them into ranch was a delight nonetheless.

Though the 2 tenders and jojo made for a satisfying meal, I could have eaten 5 more tenders just because they were so freaking good.

If you're ever in Brook Park and craving fried chicken, you can't go wrong with the little Sunoco store.
