Parking meters in Oahu ars NOT a problem as you will NEVER find street parking anywhere and expect to pay $40 daily to park the rental in a garage. And there is NEVER any beach parking, you will be circling the lot for HOURS waiting. Roadside on the shoulders is about the only parking to be had and you need to be an early bird to find even that. Love Oahu, moving there in 2 weeks, but carpooling is the only way, let someone else be responsible for the car.
