ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) – After the dazzling fireworks show by the City of Isle Palms, they call for volunteers to help in the year’s busiest and dirtiest beach week.

“We only ask you for 30 minutes of cleanup time during a sweep, but welcome you to do more,” said beach clean-up officials.

The clean-up is scheduled for Friday, July 5 from 7 – 8:30 a.m. IOP cleanup asks volunteers to clean up for at least 30 minutes during the scheduled time.

Volunteers will sign in at the beach access in the 1100 block of Ocean Boulevard by Smugglers and Coconut Joe’s, between the outdoor showers and the city restroom building with the IOP mural.

All ages are welcome, officials say children should be with an adult.

This event will also help those in need of student volunteer hours.

    No advance registration is required.
