    To the editor:

I am writing to invite the Lynnfield community to attend the Prayer Gathering for Peace on Nov. 3 at 1:30 p.m. on Lynnfield Common. At a time when our country is so divided, it may seem all hope for peace and unity is lost. Many of us feel adrift, anxious, and uncertain about the future. We can be so preoccupied with our worries that we set faith aside, but these are the times when faith and prayer are more important than ever. Hope is never lost. Do not be discouraged; God is with us! Saint Padre Pio tells us, “Pray, hope and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”

The Prayer Gathering for Peace is an opportunity to join in prayer and unify as a community. We will come together to lift our hearts and voices in our common desire for truth, respect, freedom, and peace through praying the Holy Rosary. This powerful prayer has been proven over the centuries to move mountains and has been a common thread among great saints throughout history, including Padre Pio, Pope John Paul II, and Mother Teresa. People of all faiths are welcome to pray with us as we settle our hearts and minds through this meditative and powerful prayer. If you believe in the transformative capability of prayer, come experience the Rosary. Please do not be concerned if you have never prayed this prayer before; we will guide you through it. Let’s create a ripple effect of love and unity that will spread throughout our families, community, nation, and the world. With God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). As Saint Mother Teresa said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

We have planned a fun, family-friendly event with face painting, music, and fall treats. Bring a chair or blanket, bring your kids, and bring a friend. All are welcome!

Let’s make our common ground holy ground!

Important Note: This is a bipartisan, non-political event. No candidates or issues will be mentioned. Please do not bring political signs or wear political attire. We are coming together with one intention and one cry of the heart: “Father, thy will be done.”

    God bless you!

    Yours truly,

    Corinna Tavano, JMJ
