A new survey has determined that the city with the lowest cost of living in the entire United States is right here in Michigan. WalletHub recently did a deep-dive into data to determine America's "Best & Worst Cities for First-Time Home Buyers". The survey looked at 300 cities across the United States, comparing their affordability and quality of life, as well as their real estate markets.
Severe storms bring more heavy rain to West Michigan
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Severe thunderstorms racing across West Michigan late Monday night and early Tuesday morning created vivid lightning and dropped more heavy rain on already saturated ground. The storms first moved onto the Lake Michigan shoreline around 11 p.m. Monday and moved steadily eastward until clearing the area by 3 a.m. Tuesday. Doppler radar estimated rainfall showed the heaviest precipitation fell in an east to west stripe that roughly followed I-94 where between 2.5" and 4.0" of rain may have fallen.
