    Ithaca man arrested on weapons charges

    ITHACA, N.Y. ( WETM ) — An Ithaca man is facing multiple charges after police say they found a rifle, a bulletproof vest, and ammo in his home.

    Jerimiah C. Greenidge, 25, was arrested on July 16 after an investigation into recent shootings and weapons violations in the City of Ithaca. According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers searched Greenridge’s apartment at the Arthaus, located at 130 Cherry St., on a warrant.

    During the search, police allegedly found and seized an AR-15-style rifle, a ballistic vest, several high-capacity magazines, and numerous roads of ammunition.

    Greenidge was charged with four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (class D felonies) and one count of unlawful purchase of body armor (a class A misdemeanor),

    Greenidge’s charges were read in the Ithaca City Court and he was taken to the Tompkins County Jail. He is currently being held at the jail on $50,000 cash bail/$100,000 bond/$250,000 partially secured bond.
