(Monday 8/5/24 @ 3:45 pm) McDowell County Sheriff’s Office is now confirming a female was in the vehicle with Ryan Ricky Houston that crashed on Interstate 40 last Thursday night. The Sheriff’s Office states the female in the vehicle was Malerie Lauren Crisp, 41 y/o of Asheville. The Sheriff’s Office also confirms that she died from stab wounds, following an autopsy conducted this date in Winston Salem by the state Medical Examiner’s Office.
