FOIA Policy Discussed by Clemson City Council
Clemson City Council discussed improving its Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) policy after concerns about transparency were raised by councilwomen and residents. City clerk Jeremiah Jackson reviewed the current policy, noting that requests are confirmed within 10 days, with a price quote provided if necessary. He suggested updating the flat fee to match state law rates.
An Esther School to open in Seneca
A Florida-based school for children with special needs is coming to Seneca, according to one of its founders, Dr. Esther Berry. She’s in Seneca conducting interviews and meeting with parents of special needs children. Berry tells 101.7/WGOG NEWS arrangements have been made to rent space in the Blue Ridge Community Center for enough classrooms to accommodate up to 150 children in a school calendar year to start in August. According to its website, with nine campuses, mostly in Florida, Esther’s School operates as a private school that offers a Christian perspective. Among the types of special needs children they welcome are those with autism, Down’s syndrome, ADHD, and children who, as she put it, simply don’t fit in public school classrooms.
