Everything Dabo Swinney said at Tuesday’s media gathering
The official start to the Clemson football season is August 31 when the Tigers open the 2024 schedule against the Georgia Bulldogs in Week 1 at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The unofficial start is coach Dabo Swinney’s annual media day event, held for local reporters at the Allen N. Reeves Football Complex. “As coaches, we love this time of year,” an upbeat Swinney said as part of his opening remarks to reporters on Tuesday. “We start over in January. That’s what we do. Just the nature of our world, but it all builds to this. Everything builds to getting back on the field.” As...
Suicide and Crisis Lifeline an asset to thousands in North Carolina as it marks 2 years of existence
It's a different day for Scott Huler who was raised to believe that it was not OK to talk about your feelings. He refused to raise his sons that way."Emotions were considered a feminine thing, and I'm a boy," Huler said. "I'm not supposed to have emotions, and it's very standard for a 60s upbringing. I hated that. I knew it was wrong as a little kid."Huler, 65, spoke with ABC11 in downtown Durham. He said his sons are emotionally sound as a result of the changes he's implemented over the years. Mental health experts believe more people feel like...
Garrett Riley outlines expectations for Cade Klubnik in 2024
Clemson offensive coordinator Garrett Riley met with reporters during Dabo Swinney’s 2024 media gathering at the Allen N. Reeves Football Complex Tuesday. Not surprisingly, quarterback Cade Klubnik’s name came up a lot. One of the questions asked was about Riley’s expectations for Klubnik in 2024. Klubnik will be in his second full season as the Tigers’ starting quarterback after starting all 13 games a year ago. “A guy that’s not going to panic, a guy that’s going to understand what we’re trying to do,” Riley said. “Minimizing some of the bad plays. Those are some of the things off the top of...

Clemson offensive line coach shares injury update on Walker Parks
One of the areas the Tigers need the most help with in the 2024 season is the offensive line, and the return of veteran lineman Walker Parks should definitely help there. In 2023, Parks had a season-ending lower-body injury against Charleston Southern, which resulted in him playing just two games and 123 offensive snaps. Now a redshirt senior, Parks is in his fifth and final year with the program. During Dabo Swinney’s Media Outing at the Allen Reeves Football Complex on Tuesday, offensive line coach Matt Luke shared an injury update on Parks. “He is doing well,” Luke said “That was a tough one just because I did not get him in the bowl game or spring practice, but right now, he looks as good as he has looked since I have been here. He is full speed running and he is full speed in the weight room. It will probably be five or six practices in before we really know more.” Hopefully, Parks will be 100% by the start of the season. The Tigers need him to compete for an ACC Championship.
