Help for Philly Homeowners: PAHAF Grant Opens March 18th to Help Delinquent Taxes and More
Apply for a PAHAF Grant for help if you're 30 days past due and have housing-related expenses. Philadelphia - Friday, March 15, 2024, the City of Philadelphia's Department of Revenue's press release announced that the Pennsylvania Homeowner Assistance Fund (PAHAF) "grant opens again [and] provides up to $14,000 for delinquent taxes.” Applications open on Monday, March 18th, 2024.
Utility Clinic from Community Legal Services Friday, March 15th at Children's Hospital
Utility clinic to meet with gas, electric, and water company representatives with legal expert. If you need help with your utility bills, Community Legal Services (CLS), Children's Hospital and Hope PHL have joined forces to host a Utility Clinic on March 15th at CHOP's Karabots Center. CLS says, "Attendees will have the opportunity to get help understanding their bills, learn about programs that support those having trouble paying their utility bills, and meet directly with utility company representatives."

College Internships with the Department of Aviation. Are you a college sophomore, junior, or senior who's 18 years or older and you're interested in a career in aviation or working at the airport? Well, the City of Philadelphia's Department of Aviation has internships in several departments including Operations, Security, Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting, Police, Properties, Maintenance, and more. The internship pays: $18.32 per hour.
Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP)Deadline is March 5th - Apply Today
Submit a 5-minute application for K-8th grade scholarship to private schools. Correction: The CSFP scholarship is for K-8, not K-12 grades. The Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) Application for the 2024-2025 school year extended the deadline to March 5th. According to CSFP's website, CSFP is a nonprofit organization and a "privately-funded program whose mission is to provide children from under-resourced Philadelphia families with financial access to quality, safe, K-8th grade, tuition-based schools... [by granting] need-based, partial scholarships through a random lottery. CSFP currently serves more than 5,800 children enrolled at over 160 parochial and private schools."

Cody Heron pleaded guilty - hoping that restorative justice and bike park plans are also part of the conversation and healing process. Last week justice was served when Cody Heron pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. The biker's attack on the local mother, Nikki (pictured above) was captured on a viral video. According to Channel 6 ABC Action News, Cody Heron was arrested after he attacked Nikki and proceeded "to jump on the back window of her car, which sent shards of glass into the vehicle and on top of her children."
