Surf, Turf, & More at Thorny’s

Celebrating 30 years on the beach this year, Thorny’s in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina continues to offer up some of the best steak, seafood, and more along the Grand Strand. Featuring a wide range of items on their menu, a big arcade, and more in their gift shop, Thorny’s has something for everyone in the whole family.

Nothing beats a little surf and turf, and Thorny’s does both superbly. For steaks, the six ounce sirloin comes beautifully grilled with the grill marks exactly where one expects. The ten ounce New York strip is always a solid choice too, as well as the twelve ounce Hawaiian ribeye, which is marinated for a full 48 hours for the perfect harmony of flavors.

On the surf-side of things, the fried flounder is exceptional, lightly breaded and fried up golden with a variety of delicious spices. The gulf shrimp and salmon are always a great choice too, or for the indecisive, the seafood combo with flounder and shrimp offers up the best of both worlds. All seafood dishes come with the deliciously crispy house coleslaw.

In terms of combos in general, there are plenty to choose from too. The six ounce sirloin can be paired up with shrimp, ribs, or a tangy BBQ chicken breast, while the BBQ chicken breast can be paired up with the shrimp or ribs as well. Every combo comes with coleslaw standard and choice of mac and cheese, steamed broccoli, Tri-fries, sweet potato fries, or an Idaho baked potato (after 3:30 p.m.)
