A group of environmental activists caused a delay and change for a Royal Caribbean cruise ship on Saturday.

According to news reports, Jewel of the Seas, was scheduled to start a new cruise in Amsterdam, but protesters blocked the locks that the ship needed to pass through.

As a result, the ship had to be moved to a different port, IJmuiden, which is about 19 miles away.

Passengers on the cruise experienced a slight delay and had to take shuttle buses to get to the ship.

The activists from the group Extinction Rebellion said they were protesting the environmental impact of cruise ships. They said that cruise ships cause a lot of pollution.

Royal Caribbean did not comment on the protest.

The Jewel of the Seas was on its way to the Arctic Circle for a 12-night cruise. The ship can hold up to 2,502 passengers.

This is just the latest example of how environmental activists are targeting the cruise industry.

The industry has been criticized for its pollution record. However, cruise lines argue that they are making efforts to reduce their environmental impact.
