A Reddit post on the r/Cruise subreddit has caused a stir after a user uploaded a photo appearing to show a mannequin taking a picture from the balcony of Royal Caribbean's new ship, Icon of the Seas.

Icon of the Seas is currently the largest cruise ship in the world which sailed her innaugural voyage in January of 2024.

The photo, which has not been independently verified, has garnered mixed reactions.

Some commenters joked about the possibility of the mannequin being a repurposed "casino debt defaulter" or someone caught with contraband.

However, others pointed out that Icon of the Seas features several life-sized statues throughout the ship, including some depicting passengers in various poses.

The commenter suggests the photo might be of one of these statues, possibly one designed to look like a tourist taking a picture.

There are also other statues of lifelike people on the vessel.

A Devon sculptor, Andrew Sinclair, has created three large sculptures for Icon of the Seas.

These sculptures, depicting female divers, are located on three different decks of the ship. They were created at Sinclair's workshop.

The sculptures for Icon of the Seas were made using resin due to weight restrictions on the ship.
