Looking to travel abroad in the near future? You might want to take a look at which cities are considered high-risk according to a new study.

A new study by Forbes Advisor has ranked the world's cities based on their perceived risk levels for international travelers.

The analysis, which considered factors such as crime, personal security, health, infrastructure, natural disasters, and digital security, identified several destinations as particularly hazardous.

Topping the list of risky cities is Caracas, Venezuela, which received a perfect 100 risk score. The Venezuelan capital is the only city to be deemed completely off-limits for tourists.

The Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) has issued a strong warning against all travel to certain regions of Venezuela, citing a high threat of terrorist attacks.

Following closely behind Caracas is Karachi, Pakistan, which was ranked the second most dangerous city due to the terrorism risk in the region.

With a score of 91.67, Yangon, Myanmar, also made the top three, primarily due to concerns about identity theft, natural disasters, and inadequate healthcare services.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Singapore was found to be the safest city for tourists. The Southeast Asian nation achieved a perfect 0 risk score, thanks to its low levels of natural disasters, health threats, and infrastructure risks.

Tokyo, Japan, and Toronto, Canada, also ranked highly, with danger scores well below 15.

The study's findings highlight the importance of conducting thorough research and considering local conditions before embarking on international travel.

While some destinations may offer unique experiences, others may pose significant risks to travelers' safety and well-being.

The top 10 risky cities for tourists according to the Forbes Advisor study are:

    1. Caracas, Venezuela
    2. Karachi, Pakistan
    3. Yangon, Myanmar
    4. Lagos, Nigeria
    5. Manila, Philippines
    6. Dhaka, Bangladesh
    7. Bogota, Colombia
    8. Cairo, Egypt
