Cruise Passenger Warns Against Being Barefoot on a Cruise: "Just About Stepped Into a Pile..."

A recent cruise passenger has issued a warning about the importance of wearing shoes while onboard.

The story has since been picked up by cruise outlets, mentioning what cruisers need to be careful of when walking around the ship.

The individual, who was sailing on a Princess Cruise, witnessed a surprising incident involving a fellow passenger and a less-than-pleasant surprise.

As described in their Reddit post, the passenger observed a crowd gathering near the Retreat entrance.

"A guy came walking by from the sun deck on the other side with no shoes on," they wrote. "Which hey people can wear what they want on a cruise I guess."

However, the man's choice of footwear nearly led to a disastrous encounter.

"He didn’t notice the crowd and was heading to the Retreat when someone suddenly stopped him," the passenger continued. "Man just about stepped into a pile of poo at the entrance to the Retreat."

The passenger noted that staff quickly responded to clean up the mess, which they found unusual given their experience on previous cruises.

They first guessed that the source of the waste might have been a child, but there were only a few children on that cruise.

While the incident may seem humorous —to those of us reading about it anyway—it serves as a reminder that even in seemingly pristine environments like cruise ships, you never know what to expect.

When in doubt, just wear shoes.
