Cruise lines are constantly changing their list of prohibited items. Just recently, Royal Caribbean added mutli-plug adapters and power strips to its "ban list" found on the company's website.

Now, Royal Caribbean has expanded its list of prohibited items even more, aiming to ensure the safety of its passengers and crew.

According to news reports, the most recent addition to the banned items list is baby monitors.

Royal Caribbean has stated that these devices can interfere with ship communication and navigation systems, posing a potential safety hazard.

However, two-way radios, or walkie-talkies, are allowed for onboard personal communications, provided they meet specific specifications regarding range, power, and operation.

It should be noted that these radios typically do not work well through the walls of a massive metal ship. And they should be used with headphones so other passengers are not annoyed by the excessive noise.

The ban on baby monitors also comes on the heels of a story in which a couple was reported to have left their toddlers in the cabin while they went to dinner. The influencer couple insinuated on an Instagram post that they used baby monitors to keep on eye on them.

The couple are now denying they left their children alone on the cruise ship, but since the story went viral, it's possible that the cruise line now wants to make sure no one else tries this on board.
